Correct date of Diwali has been announced, Diwali will be celebrated on this day

October 27, 2024

Diwali 2024: Every year the festival of Diwali is celebrated on the day of Kartik Amavasya. It is one of the most important and famous festivals of Hinduism. Diwali is mainly celebrated in the joy of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya. On this day Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after spending 14 years in exile. In this happiness, the people of Ayodhya decorated the entire city with lamps. That is why the tradition of celebrating this festival has been going on. This year there is a lot of confusion about the date and day of Diwali. Some are saying that Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October and some on 1 November. Let us tell you the correct date of Diwali.

This year the festival of Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October 2024. This decision has been taken unanimously in the Dharmasabha organized by the All India Vidvat Parishad at the Central Sanskrit University in Jaipur. Eminent scholars, astrologers and religious scholars have announced the date keeping in mind the astrological calculations and classical traditions.

In this meeting, October 31 has been considered as per scriptures for Kartik Amavasya and Lakshmi Pujan. Scholars and astrologers also said that there is no controversy about celebrating Diwali on October 31. Diwali is also proved to be on October 31 in the calculation of the visible side. Sabha President Prof. Rampal Sharma said that according to the religious scriptures, on November 1, there will be only a few minutes of Amavasya Tithi in Pradosh Kaal. In such a situation, there will be no time for Lakshmi Puja. Whereas on October 31, due to Amavasya in both Pradosh Kaal and midnight, it is appropriate to celebrate Diwali on this day.

Director of Central Sanskrit University Prof. Sudesh Sharma said that on October 31, Amavasya enters Pradosh Kaal. And as soon as Pradosh arrives, the night of Diwali begins. Taurus Lagna arrives. According to Brahma Purana, after being freed from the prison of King Bali, Lakshmi goes to every house at midnight without any fear. Lakshmi resides in the house whose house is open at midnight on Amavasya. Therefore, with the consent of the scholars of the whole country, Diwali will be celebrated on 31st October only.

Pandit Kaushal Dutt Sharma said that if Amavasya was available for 24 minutes at night after Pradosh Kaal 05.41 pm to 08.50 pm, then Diwali could have been celebrated on 1st November. Lakshmi Puja is not possible due to Amavasya being available for only a few minutes after sunset on 1st November. He talked about celebrating Diwali on 31st October only. There is also an argument that Lakshmi ji roams in the sky only on one day at midnight to shower her blessings, which is midnight of 31st October.

This year the festival of Diwali will be celebrated on 31st October 2024. According to the Akhil Hindu Panchang in the Central Sanskrit University of Jaipur, this year the Amavasya Tithi will be from 3:52 pm on October 31 to 6:16 pm on November 1. In such a situation, Amavasya Tithi will be present on the night of October 31. Therefore, celebrating the festival of Diwali on the night of October 31 is logical.
