Kanpur. Within a month, another conspiracy of train accident has come to light in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. On Sunday night at around 8.30 pm, Kalindi Express going from Prayagraj to Bhiwani collided with a filled LPG cylinder kept on the railway line. On the night of 17 August, at around 2.30 am, 22 coaches of Sabarmati Express had derailed. Railways had also talked about conspiracy in this accident.
Police has told that on the night of 8 September, at around 8.30 pm, Kalindi Express collided with a filled LPG cylinder kept on the railway track between Barrajpur and Bilhaur on Anwarganj-Kasganj railway line. The loco pilot said that he saw some suspicious object on the track after which he applied brakes, but even after that the object collided with the train which made a very loud sound. The driver stopped the train and informed the guard and the rest of the people about this.
To investigate this incident, the team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and other agencies have reached the spot and started investigation. Kanpur and Lucknow units of ATS have collected evidence by reaching the spot.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Railway Superintendent of Anwarganj station, RPF and other railway officials reached the spot. When the investigation was done on the spot, the police also found many deadly substances like a cylinder, petrol bottle, matchsticks and gunpowder in the bushes. The train was sent off after stopping for half an hour. Police and forensic teams came to the spot and investigated. All the suspicious objects were sent for investigation.
Additional Commissioner Harish Chandra, who reached the spot, said that whoever has done this will be caught. At present, investigation is being done on all points. Our forensic team is also reviewing in detail.
22 coaches of Sabarmati Express were derailed
Earlier on the night of 17 August, 22 coaches of Kanpur-Jhansi route Sabarmati Express (19168) along with the engine derailed. This train was going from Varanasi to Ahmedabad. The driver of the train that met with the accident had told that the accident happened due to a boulder hitting the engine because as soon as the boulder hit the engine, the cattle guard of the engine got badly bent. This accident is being investigated.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had told that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and UP Police are investigating this accident. Evidence of the accident has been secured. There has been no injury to the passengers or employees in this incident. Train has been arranged for Ahmedabad for the passengers.
150 people lost their lives in rail accidents in 2016
Many major rail accidents have happened in Kanpur before this. In November 2016, Indore-Patna Express derailed near Pukhrayan railway station in Kanpur Dehat, in which about 150 people died, while more than 150 people were injured. This accident is included in the major rail accidents of the country. After this, in the year 2017, the coaches of Kaifiyat Express derailed near Auraiya, in which more than 70 passengers were injured.
