Congress ignored Dalits and backward classes in the 90s – Rahul Gandhi

January 31, 2025

New Delhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that in the 1990s, Congress ignored the interests of Dalits, deprived and backward classes. The party could not protect their interests the way it should have. Rahul said, if Congress had maintained the trust of Dalits and backward classes, then RSS would never have come to power.

At a program of Dalit influencers in Ghalib Auditorium, Delhi, the former Congress President said that he will bring internal revolution in the party. Dalits and backward classes will be connected to the organization. There should be holistic development of Dalits, tribals, backward classes and deprived classes. Only political and social representation will not work. He said that progress is possible only by ensuring their fair share in institutions and corporate world. Rahul said, during Indira Gandhi’s tenure, Congress had the full trust of Dalits, minorities and backward classes, but in the 1990s, it kept decreasing. This fact is not hidden from anyone. It is worth mentioning that from 1991 to 95, there was a Congress government in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.

The statement may cause harm but it is true
Rahul said that this statement may cause harm to him, but he accepts the truth. He said that he will not get justice in the current system because BJP and RSS have taken control of the entire system. Rahul called PM Narendra Modi and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal anti-reservation.
