New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has given a big statement on Saturday on the birth anniversary of former CM Dr. Sahib Singh Verma. She called Minister Pravesh Verma her younger brother and said, we both studied together in the same school and now in the government, the sister is the CM and the brother is the minister. Even in the house, things are given to the elder daughter.

Actually, Pravesh Verma is the Minister of Public Works Department in the BJP government of Delhi. In the Delhi elections, he defeated AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal by a huge margin on the New Delhi seat. After the result, it was believed that BJP could bet on Pravesh and make him the new Chief Minister. However, the party high command handed over the command of Delhi to Rekha Gupta.

Sahib Singh Verma was the CM of Delhi
Pravesh has got the responsibility of PWD Ministry in the Rekha Gupta government. Pravesh has previously been an MP from West Delhi seat twice. His father Sahib Singh Verma was the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1996 to 1998.

Sahib Singh Verma’s birth anniversary was celebrated on Saturday. Pravesh performed a havan on the occasion of his father’s birth anniversary. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended the prayer meeting program. ‘I want to be like him’
CM Rekha Gupta said, I got the blessings of Sahib Singh ji since childhood. He too became the Chief Minister after winning from Shalimar Bagh. His hard work is on the tongue of every worker. It was my good fortune that I, Rachna and Pravesh were all in the same school. We have seen the journey from councilor to Chief Minister. I want to be like him.

‘Sisters and brothers will work together’
CM Gupta called Pravesh his younger brother and herself the elder sister. Rekha Gupta said, both of us siblings will work together. Daughter Chief Minister and son Minister. It could have been the other way round, but even in the house things are given to the elder daughter.

What did Pravesh Verma say…
Pravesh Verma said in the program, some good work will be done at the Samadhi Sthal. Verma said, there are 34 such slums here, where there is a problem of water. In the next six to eight months, 9 thousand new water connections will be installed. Due to which 4700 people will be able to get clean water. Instructions have also been given to solve the problem of waterlogging.

Sahib Singh Verma was born on 15 March 1943 in a farmer family in Mundka village of Delhi. He started his political career as an RSS worker and was elected to the Delhi Municipal Corporation in 1997 on the ticket of Janata Party. He became the Chief Minister of Delhi in 1996.
