Center gave a big gift to the Mohan government, released an amount of 13,987 crores

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has got a significant financial relief from the Central Government, which is proving to be a big relief for the state government on the occasion of Diwali. Usually the state receives financial assistance of about Rs 7,000 crore from the Center every month, but this time the amount has almost doubled to Rs 13,987 crore.

The Union Finance Ministry has released it as an advance installment in view of the festive season so that the state governments can complete their development works and welfare schemes faster. The Union Finance Ministry has released a total of Rs 1,78,173 crore to the states across the country. This amount is double the normal monthly assistance, which includes an advance installment in addition to the regular installment payable in October 2024.

The state government had planned to take a loan of Rs 6,000 crore by the end of this month, which has been postponed for the time being due to this advance installment. The state government had recently taken a loan of Rs 5,000 crore, taking the total debt to Rs 3.95 lakh crore. Despite this, this huge amount received from the Center has given temporary relief to the state government, which is struggling with the burden of heavy debt.

The total debt of the Madhya Pradesh government had crossed Rs 3.75 lakh crore by March 31, 2024. A new loan of Rs 20,000 crore has been taken so far this financial year. In August and September, the government had taken a loan of Rs 15,000 crore. The new government faces a big challenge of debt, but this time the advance amount received from the Center has definitely given some relief. This additional amount has been given to the states across the country so that capital expenditure and development work can be accelerated during the festive season.
