BPSC students protest in Patna, bandh supporters create ruckus and arson on Rajpath

Patna: The agitation of students is deepening in Bihar over the alleged irregularities in the BPSC examination. In Patna, Bihar, students are protesting today for the investigation of irregularities in BPSC re-exam and restoration examinations. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav announced Bihar Bandh today i.e. Sunday, January 12, demanding the cancellation of BPSC 70th PT exam. He urged the traders to make this bandh successful.

Students are obstructing traffic by setting fire on the middle of the road at various places in Patna. Also, the students created a ruckus and set fire on Ashoka Rajpath in Patna. The bandh has been called to investigate the irregularities in BPSC re-exam and restoration examinations. Bhim Army and AIMIM have also supported this bandh.

These are the demands of the students
BPSC 70th Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (BPSC 70th PT Exam) was conducted on 13 December 2024. From the day of the examination, the candidates are demanding cancellation of the examination alleging irregularities. Let us tell you that amid the BPSC 70th preliminary examination controversy in Bihar, re-exam was conducted for 12 thousand candidates on January 4. Re-exam was conducted at 22 exam centers for about 12 thousand candidates. Now the commission is preparing to declare the result of the preliminary examination soon.


In fact, BPSC 70th PT exam was conducted on 13 December at various examination centers in Bihar. From the day of the examination, the candidates are demanding cancellation and re-conducting it by alleging irregularities in the examination. The candidates alleged that the students got the paper late at Bapu Exam Center in Patna and the seal of the paper was already open. On the day of the examination, the angry candidates went to another exam room and threw the sheets and papers of the candidates, which has also been confirmed in the CCTV cameras installed in the exam room.

March towards Chief Minister’s residence
Earlier, student protesters from organizations like All India Students Association and Revolutionary Youngsters Association started a march from Gandhi Maidan in Patna towards the Chief Minister’s residence. The students demand that the BPSC exam should be canceled and it should be organized afresh in a transparent manner.

Students’ anger increased
Earlier also, the lathicharge and use of water cannon by the police on the students’ protest in Patna has further increased the anger of the students and their organizations. The students say that the government is trying to suppress their voice, but they will not back down from their demands.

Government’s silence!
So far, no official statement has come from the government in this matter. Students and opposition parties say that if their demands are not met soon, the movement will be intensified. This growing movement in Patna has posed a big challenge for the Bihar government. Now it remains to be seen what stand the government takes on this matter.
