Bomb threat on Air India flight from Mumbai to New York, all passengers safe

New Delhi. Air India’s plane has been diverted to Delhi after a bomb threat. All the passengers of this flight going to New York are said to be safe. According to the information, the Air India plane going from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi airport on Monday after a bomb threat. Officials said that all the passengers are safe and further investigation is going on.

What did Delhi Police say?
A statement was also issued by Delhi Police in the matter. According to the police, the Air India plane was diverted to Delhi due to security reasons. The plane is currently at IGI Airport and all standard security protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

What did Air India say?
According to an Air India spokesperson, flight AI119, which took off from Mumbai to JFK on October 14, received a special security alert. After this, it was diverted to Delhi on the instructions of the government’s security regulatory committee. All the passengers have disembarked from the plane and are at the Delhi airport terminal.

There were 135 passengers on board the flight
After this, Air India flight AI 657 was safely landed at the airport. After this, the flight was kept in the isolation bay. Then all 135 passengers and crew members were evacuated.

The plane had landed safely
The airport had issued a statement saying that AI 657 (BOM-TRV) reported a bomb threat on August 22, 2024 at 0730 hrs. Full emergency was declared at TRV airport at 0736 hrs. The plane landed safely. It was parked in the isolation bay.

IndiGo flight also received threat
Earlier in June 2024, a bomb threat was received on an IndiGo flight going from Chennai to Mumbai, after which the plane was made to make an emergency landing in Mumbai. There were 172 passengers and crew members on board the plane.

Passengers were disembarked
The airline had said that upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocols and the plane was taken to the isolation bay as per security agency guidelines. All passengers were safely disembarked from the plane.
