New Delhi: Continuing his efforts to encourage investments in Punjab, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday assured Modern Automotives of full support and cooperation for expanding its project in the state and future plans to manufacture critical parts of automotive giant BMW from the state. A delegation comprising Aditya Goel, Suhail Goel and Manish Bagga of Modern Automotives Ltd met the Chief Minister.
During the meeting, he was informed that Modern Automotive has become the first Indian company to get approval for delivery of differential pinion shafts to German luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW AG Munich. He said the order for 2.5 million units worth Rs 150 crore has been confirmed. He said the model involving investment of hundreds of crores of rupees for development and testing will be executed on the same basis.
Assuring the company of full cooperation in future, the Chief Minister accepted the invitation of the delegation to lay the foundation stone of the plant next month. He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that now parts of leading automotive giant BMW will be produced in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this move will boost the industrial development of the state and Punjab’s name will shine on the international map.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state has an industry friendly government and a real single window system for the well-being of investors. He said that Punjab is a land of opportunities and leading companies from across the world are coming forward to invest in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has complete communal harmony, industrial peace and a favorable environment for industrial development, which is accelerating its overall growth, prosperity and progress. This will lead to investments worth hundreds of crores of rupees and training of thousands of youth. Apart from this, employment will also be generated.
