New Delhi: The process of election of BJP national president will speed up as soon as Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections are over. In this connection, BJP has called an important meeting on November 22. According to sources, on November 22, a workshop will be conducted with all the national office bearers of BJP and all the state presidents, including about 125 top leaders associated with the organization, regarding the election process of the organization. This meeting has been called by BJP President JP Nadda, in which Home Minister Amit Shah can also be present.
All the national office bearers of BJP will attend this meeting which will run from 1 pm to 7 pm. Apart from the national office bearers, state presidents and state organization general secretaries from every state will also attend this meeting. Along with the in-charge and co-in-charge of all the states, the national presidents of all the fronts of BJP have also been called to the meeting.
Apart from the National Election Officer K Laxman and the three co-election officers appointed for the election of the president in the organization, the state election officers and co-officers appointed in all the states have to be present in the meeting. In this meeting, active membership heads from across the country have also been called. All the BJP officials and visiting leaders called in the meeting have been asked to bring a detailed account of all the activities related to the organisational elections, starting from the local active membership campaign.
Apart from this, BJP has taken another important decision in view of the national president election. BJP organisation election’s central election officer K Laxman has formed the National Appeal Committee. Radha Mohan Singh has been made the convener of this committee while three senior BJP leaders Vijaypal Singh Tomar, Sanjay Bhatia, Gajendra Patel have been made co-conveners of the National Appeal Committee. This appeal committee works to prevent any irregularities in the election of the BJP president and complaints of errors made in the election process can also be made with this committee.
Actually, according to Rule 4 of the BJP constitution, a National Returning Officer is appointed for the party’s organisational election i.e. the presidential election. This National Returning Officer forms his team for the election of the President, which appoints Returning Officer and Incharge in each state. In this sequence, according to the constitution of BJP, the National Election Officer forms a National Appeal Committee where complaints of any irregularities in the process of election of the President are made and its redressal is done.
To speed up the election of the BJP President, BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah had called a meeting of cabinet ministers on Tuesday. BJP’s organization minister BL Santosh was also present in the meeting. According to the information received, in this meeting with the Union Ministers, Home Minister Amit Shah took the progress report of the state-wise organizational elections. After that a plan was made to speed up the process of the President election.
After discussion in the same meeting, it was decided that the process of party president election should be expedited by organizing a workshop on November 22 and the election process should be kept transparent by forming a National Appeal Committee. It is believed that the process of election of the new President of BJP will be completed by the third week of January, that is, the party can get a new national president anytime after January 15.
