BJP and Congress over Mohan Yadav government’s order to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami

Bhopal. There is a war of words going on between BJP and Congress regarding Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Madhya Pradesh. The state’s Dr. Mohan Yadav Government has ordered to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami in all schools and colleges. In an order issued to all divisional commissioners and district collectors on August 21, the government said that on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami on August 26, cleaning of temples of Lord Krishna and cultural programs should be organized in every district. Congress has opposed this. The party says that educational institutions are the center of education and it should be allowed to remain only for this.

The government has further said in the order that on Krishna Janmashtami, lectures and cultural programs should be organized by scholars on various topics related to the education, friendship and life philosophy of Lord Krishna in all government, non-government schools and colleges. Objecting to the order, Congress MLA Arif Masood said that he does not understand why the state government is engaged in ruining educational institutions. What do you want?

Congress MLA raised questions

The Congress MLA said, ‘I do not understand why the government is engaged in ruining educational institutions? Educational institutions are only for studies and good environment. There is a holiday for religious programs, which Hindus and Muslims celebrate in their own way. Recently we celebrated Rakhi and we also participated in many events of Janmashtami, but you make it (Janmashtami) compulsory for educational institutions and on the other hand point fingers at madrasas. What do you want? This country will run by the Constitution and our Constitution is very good, everyone has accepted it. So run it by the Constitution, not by the ideas of Godse.’

If you want to celebrate Eid, then do so
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma thanked the Mohan Yadav-led state government for the decision to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami across the state. He said, ‘Our government has decided to celebrate Janmashtami with pomp and show across the state and the Congress leaders who have objections to this should listen that it is an Indian festival and why does Congress have objections to Janmashtami? If they want to celebrate Eid instead of Janmashtami, Congress can do so, who is stopping them? We will celebrate Janmashtami. Lord Krishna had received education in Ujjain, so it is the responsibility of the state to celebrate Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. I congratulate and thank the Mohan Yadav government for celebrating this festival at the government level.’
