Gwalior. The Bangladeshi cricket team and staff members who reached Gwalior for the match with the Indian team could not reach the mosque for Friday prayers. In view of the protest by Hindu organizations, their program had to be canceled due to security reasons. After which they had to offer namaz in the hotel itself.
Actually, the Bangladeshi players and staff had asked to offer Friday prayers in the local mosque on Friday. After which there was a plan to take the team to Moti Masjid in Gwalior’s Phoolbagh at around 1.30 pm, but due to the protest of Hindu Mahasabha, this program was canceled at the last moment. It is being told that after this the city Qazi made the Bangladesh team offer namaz in the hotel itself.
Let us tell you that on October 6, a T20 match is to be played between the teams of India and Bangladesh at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. For this, both the teams have reached Gwalior. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team attended the practice session from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday.
After the change of power in Bangladesh, there are reports of not only damage to Hindu temples, but also continuous violence against the people of the Hindu community living there, due to which the people of India are angry. Hindu organizations of Gwalior are also angry about this and due to this they are opposing playing the match with Bangladesh. After which the Bangladesh team has been kept under tight security. During the match, four thousand soldiers and officers will also be deployed for security in the stadium.
The Bangladesh team is staying at Hotel Radisson located in the city center. No one is allowed to come and go here. The hotel staff has also been given special passes. Even while going and coming for practice, tight security was provided in front and behind the bus of Bangladesh players. Tight security has been done on the way to and from the hotel by making temporary barriers on both sides.
Barricades have also been installed at the main gate, and a policeman has been deployed every ten steps till the inner gate. More than 200 soldiers are deployed around the hotel 24 hours a day. No one can enter the hotel without a pass. Even the head chef of the hotel who cooks food for the Bangladesh team is not allowed to talk to anyone.
