Those who fled to Pakistan were cowards, we are not among those who get scared; Owaisi gets angry on covering mosques

March 15, 2025

New Delhi. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi targeted the Central and UP government on the covering of mosques and said that those who fled to Pakistan were cowards. These are the children of Jiyaals and consider India as their country. Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, he said that why are Muslims being treated as second class citizens in their own country. Owaisi said, someone says that if you are afraid then do not read namaaz, sit at home. Someone says that just like we have covered the mosques, you should cover your head. Someone says that if we come to power in Bengal, we will expel Muslims from Bengal. Hey brother, those who fled to Pakistan were cowards. These are the children of Jiyaals, not among those who run away. Our people were rich with the wealth of faith. They considered India as their country and will continue to do so. Strange things are going on.

Owaisi said, our self-respect is being snatched away. We are being told that you are a second-class citizen. We will fight you democratically and you will lose. A Chief Minister is saying that read Friday prayers at home. Since when did you become an Allama? Now we will have to learn religion from him. And what else can we do at home? There is a mosque, there is freedom of religious belief. We will go to the mosque and keep populating it. Article 25 allows us to do this. I will not learn my religion from you.

Let us tell you that due to Holi and Ramzan falling together, mosques were covered in many parts of the country so that colors do not fall on the mosques and any kind of communal tension can be prevented. There has been tension in Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh for many months. In such a situation, mosques were covered here too. Mosques were also covered in Ayodhya.

This time Holi fell on Friday. In such a situation, there was a lot of Hindu-Muslim debate in political circles. Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara had said that the time of Namaaz cannot be changed but a two-hour break can be imposed on Holi. Anjum is a JDU leader. After her statement, a series of attacks and counter-attacks started. Sambhal CO Anuj Chaudhary had said that those who feel uncomfortable with colors should stay indoors. He had said that Holi is celebrated only once a year, whereas Namaaz is celebrated 52 times. If someone has a problem with colors, then they should stay indoors. They should have a broad mindset and celebrate the festival together.
