Major accident in Jammu and Kashmir, army vehicle falls into ditch, 5 soldiers martyred

Poonch: A major accident took place in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening. Officials said that an army vehicle lost its way and fell into a ditch in Balnoi area of ​​​​Mendhar area of ​​​​the district. It is being told that many soldiers have been injured in this incident. On receiving the information, army officials reached the spot and started the rescue operation and started the process of sending the injured soldiers to the hospital. 5 soldiers died during treatment.

It is being told that there were 8 to 9 soldiers in this vehicle, out of which 5 have died and the rest are being treated. The military vehicle of 11 MLI going from Neelam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora post crashed as soon as it reached Ghora post. The vehicle fell into a ditch about 300-350 feet deep. On receiving the information, the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of 11 MLI reached the spot and started the rescue.


The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army wrote on its official Twitter account, “All ranks of #WhiteKnightCorps express their deepest condolences on the tragic death of five brave soldiers in a vehicle accident during operational duty in Poonch sector. Rescue operations are underway, and the injured personnel are receiving medical care.”

In a similar accident last month, a soldier was killed and another injured in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accident took place near Badog village in Kalakot on November 4, in which Naik Badri Lal and Sepoy Jai Prakash were seriously injured and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

However, Lal succumbed during treatment. On November 2, three people, including a woman and her 10-month-old son, were killed and three others were seriously injured when a car slipped off a mountain road and fell into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
