In the meeting, financially distressed states demanded a special package, while state finance ministers requested the Centre to increase allocations for 50-year interest-free loans to aid long-term infrastructure and capital expenditure. The states also requested the Centre to bear a larger share of the costs associated with land acquisition for infrastructure projects, as well as capital expenditure updates and funding for these projects.
