New Delhi: There was a ruckus again on Saturday at Punjab Haryana Shambhu Border. Farmers tried to march to Delhi in support of their demands, but tear gas shells were fired at the protesters by the police. After that the protesting farmers postponed the Delhi march on Saturday. Punjab farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher told reporters that both the forums have decided to “call back their jatha”. Pandher said that 17-18 farmers were injured during the action of Haryana security personnel.

On December 18, Rail Roko Abhiyan will be run in Punjab from 12 noon to 3 pm. No group will march to Delhi till 18. Sarwan Singh Pandher said that today India is the fifth superpower in the world. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that till the 18th, no group will go towards Delhi. Farmers from Haryana will also be included in the next batch for Delhi visit. Farmers had tried to march towards Delhi on 14 December (today), but this attempt failed after police action.
