Maharashtra: Will Fadnavis be crowned or will BJP surprise him? Shah to have a meeting with Mahayuti leaders in the evening

New Delhi. The suspense over the name of the new CM of Maharashtra may end today. According to sources, Devendra Fadnavis can be made the Chief Minister once again. Yesterday Eknath Shinde had announced that Shiv Sena will support whoever BJP wants to make the CM. Shinde made it clear that he will accept every decision of PM Modi and Amit Shah.

-According to sources, Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will reach Delhi at 4 pm today. There is a meeting of the leaders of the Mahayuti with Home Minister Amit Shah at 5:30 pm regarding the Chief Minister.

-With Shinde taking himself out of the race for the post of CM, Devendra Fadnavis has moved ahead in the race. However, a series of meetings is going on in the BJP regarding who will be the next CM. On Wednesday night, an important meeting was held between Home Minister Amit Shah and party general secretary Vinod Tawde in Delhi to announce the name of the new Chief Minister.

BJP is worried about Fadnavis’ name
This meeting lasted for about 40 minutes. The central leadership is worried about the Maratha community being angry if a non-Maratha is made the Chief Minister in Maharashtra. Therefore, it was discussed how to retain Maratha votes if Devendra Fadnavis is made the Chief Minister again in the state.

Amit Shah is going to hold a meeting in Delhi again this evening. Acting CM Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and NCP chief Ajit Pawar will all be present in this meeting. It is expected that the name of the CM may be announced after Shah’s meeting.

Meeting in Mumbai too
On one hand, NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare met Amit Shah in Delhi, while NCP leaders Chhagan Bhujbal and Girish Mahajan met Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai. Amidst all this, there is news that now a roadmap is being prepared for the CM’s chair as well as the ministry. According to sources, BJP may get 20, Shiv Sena 11-12 and NCP 10 ministerial posts in the Mahayuti government. However, the suspense still remains on who will be the faces in the new Mahayuti government on the post of Deputy CM.

Shinde’s big statement
After Shinde’s announcement, Shiv Sena leaders strongly demanded that he remain the Chief Minister, because the ruling Mahayuti alliance has won a spectacular victory under his leadership. Political observers say that Shinde’s move has cleared the way for the swearing-in of the new government. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis is likely to lead the new government. Addressing a packed press conference at his residence in Thane, Shinde (60) said he would fully support the BJP leadership’s decision to name the next chief minister and would not be an obstacle in the process.

The BJP has appointed party national general secretary Arun Singh as Maharashtra’s central observer. Amid the continuous meetings, it remains to be seen whether the BJP announces Fadnavis’ name or puts forward a new face like in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
