New Delhi: After the Maharashtra assembly election results, there was suspense about government formation and the CM post, but after the press conference of acting CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Wednesday, the situation seems to be clear about government formation. Sources say that BJP will have CM in Maharashtra and the existing system will remain i.e. there will be one CM and two deputy CMs. Maharashtra NDA meeting will be held in Delhi on Thursday evening. The name of the leader of NDA in Maharashtra will also be decided in the meeting.
Let us tell you that currently Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde is the CM of the NDA government, while BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and NCP leader Ajit Pawar are the deputy CMs, but the Mahayuti has won a record victory in the assembly elections. After that, the BJP central leadership wants that there should be a BJP Chief Minister in the state and there has been a consensus with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar regarding this. However, the final decision will be announced after the meeting in Delhi on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, Eknath Shinde made it clear in a press conference that whatever decision PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah take, he will accept it. He will fully support the decision of the BJP leadership on the name of the next Chief Minister and will not become an obstacle in this process. After that, Eknath Shinde was praised by Maharashtra BJP in a press conference.
MPs of Shinde faction met Shah
Meanwhile, Shinde camp MP Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane met Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament on Wednesday. He said that for the first time after the Maharashtra Assembly elections, all the MPs of Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The public has given us a huge mandate in the elections… there is no dispute (about the CM post of Maharashtra). All the three parties of the Mahayuti will work together for the development of the state.
The Shiv Sena leader who met Shah said that there was no discussion on the CM post. Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske, who met Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament on Wednesday, said that he only greeted him, adding that there was no discussion on the CM post. He said that Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde has already said in a press conference that whatever decision Prime Minister Modi takes (regarding the Maharashtra Chief Minister post), it will be acceptable to us.
