    Voting for 43 seats in Jharkhand tomorrow, eyes will be on these bigwigs; know these special preparations

    Ranchi. In the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly Elections, voting will take place on November 13 for 43 assembly seats. Out of these, there are 950 polling booths in 31 assembly constituencies where voting will take place from 7 am to 4 pm, while voting will be possible from 7 am to 5 pm at 14,394 polling booths in all 43 assembly constituencies.

    In this, maximum voting will take place till 4 pm at 184 booths in Manoharpur, 89 in Jagarnathpur, 61 in Chakradharpur, 57 in Tamar, 52 in Gumla, 48 in Lohardaga and 46 booths in Chaibasa. Voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm at all polling booths in Koderma, Barkatta, Barhi, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Majhgaon, Ranchi, Hatia, Sisai, Panki and Bhawanathpur.


    Eyes will be on sons, daughters-in-law and wives of bigwigs
    Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda’s wife Meera Munda from Potka, Odisha Governor Raghuvar Das’s daughter-in-law Purnima Das Sahu from Jamshedpur East and former Chief Minister Champai Soren’s son Babulal Soren from Ghatsila, MP Joba Manjhi’s son Jagat Manjhi from Manoharpur are also in the fray. They will be kept under watch.

    GPS installed in 12 thousand vehicles, routes decided
    Departure of polling staff to booths started from Monday. Polling staff will reach all booths on Tuesday. 18 thousand buses and other vehicles have been taken for the entire election work. In the first phase of elections, about 12 thousand buses and vehicles have been deployed for election work. All are equipped with GPS. The route of all is fixed. This will enable their tracking. If the vehicle goes in the other direction from the prescribed route, then the officer will immediately track it and talk to the officer posted in that vehicle. Action will also be taken against the officers if they go on the other route.

    Responsibility of 1152 booths in the hands of women
    Chief Election Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that in the first phase, voting will take place on a total of 43 assembly seats. Out of that, 17 seats are reserved for general, 20 for scheduled tribes and six seats for scheduled castes. 683 candidates are in the fray from these 43 seats. Out of this, 609 are men, 73 are women and one candidate is from the third gender. A total of 15,344 polling stations have been set up for the first phase of elections. Out of these, 12,716 booths are located in rural areas and 2,628 booths in urban areas. In the first phase, 50 booths are in the unique category. The entire voting process at 1,152 polling stations will be in the hands of women. Whereas, the responsibility of 23 booths will be handled by youth and 24 booths will be handled by handicapped people.
