Mumbai: Assembly elections are going to be held in Maharashtra next month. BJP has completed preparations for the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other big leaders will hold many rapid public meetings in Maharashtra.
Prime Minister Modi will hold a total of eight rallies in Western Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Mumbai-Konkan, North Maharashtra and Marathwada. Devendra Fadnavis, Nitin Gadkari and Chandrashekhar Bawankule will hold the maximum number of public meetings in the state. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hold a total of 15 public meetings in Maharashtra.
Who will hold how many public meetings in Maharashtra?
Mainly two alliances face to face in the field
After the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s NCP together formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi. This time in the Maharashtra elections, the contest will be seen between two alliances instead of parties. The ruling Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi will be face to face.
Actually, the Mahayuti includes BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP. In this assembly election, the opposition alliance (MVA) would like to repeat its performance of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, in which it had gained an edge over the Mahayuti.
Elections to be held on November 20
Voting will be held on November 20 for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. The results will be declared on November 23. In the last election, BJP got 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44 seats. However, after the election, Shiv Sena broke away from NDA and formed the government with NCP-Congress. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister.
In June 2022, there was an internal strife in Shiv Sena. After this, Eknath Shinde broke away from the party’s 40 MLAs. Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister with the support of BJP. Now Shiv Sena has split into two factions. Sharad Pawar’s NCP has also split into two factions – Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.
