The political atmosphere of both Maharashtra and Jharkhand is heated at this time. This election is going to affect national politics as well as states. Talking about Maharashtra, there is currently a Shiv Sena-led government of Eknath Shinde, who joined hands with BJP after revolting against the old Shiv Sena and formed the government in the state. NCP’s Ajit faction is also included in this government.

Who will the voters of Maharashtra trust?
In this election, it will be interesting to see whether the voters of Maharashtra once again express their trust in the current (Shinde government) government or Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction), NCP (Sharad faction) and Congress get a chance to form the government.

MVA formed the government after political squabble
Voting is to be held in Maharashtra to elect 288 members of the Legislative Assembly. The last assembly elections in the state were held in October 2019, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition NDA got a clear majority to form the government, but due to internal strife, Shiv Sena left the coalition (NDA) and formed a new alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party. The Indian National Congress also joined the MVA and formed the state government here, with Uddhav Thackeray becoming the Chief Minister.

Shinde-led government in Maharashtra right now
After the political crisis in Maharashtra in 2022, Eknath Shinde formed the government with BJP with 40 MLAs. After which Eknath Shinde became the new Chief Minister. After the political crisis of 2023, the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party also joined the government.

Elections on 81 assembly seats of Jharkhand
Talking about Jharkhand, assembly elections are to be held here on all 81 seats of the state. The term of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is going to end on January 5, 2025. The last assembly elections in the state were held in December 2019.

SP has also announced its candidates on six seats for this. There are still four seats left and Congress can field its candidates on one or two of these seats.

On the other hand, if we talk about BJP, the ruling party is preparing to contest on 9 out of 10 seats in the state, while it can leave one seat for its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal. It is being said that in a recent BJP meeting, it has been decided that Muzaffarnagar’s Meerapur seat, which was earlier with RLD, can be left for Jayant Chaudhary’s party.
