New Delhi: It has been one year since Hamas fighters entered Israel through the Gaza Strip, massacred 12 hundred people and took about 250 people hostage. All this happened on 7 October last year. In response, Israel declared war and vowed that the fight will continue until Hamas is destroyed.

More than 42 thousand people have died in this war between Israel and Hamas so far. Israel claims that it has killed thousands of Hamas fighters in this war. It has also claimed to destroy the network of Hamas tunnels in Gaza.

In this one year, the war was not limited to Gaza only. Rather, its fire reached Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Syria as well. The Israeli army’s operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon has been going on for several weeks. Tensions are also at their peak between Iran and Israel. Israel has been attacked with missiles twice by Iran this year.

40 thousand targets bombed in Gaza
The Israeli army said that more than 40 thousand Hamas targets were bombed in the Gaza Strip in a year. At the same time, 4,700 Hamas tunnels and 1,000 rocket launcher sites were destroyed. Since the war began, 13,200 rockets have been fired from Gaza on Israel. Apart from Gaza, 12,400 rockets have been fired from Lebanon, 400 from Iran, 180 from Yemen and 60 rockets from Syria.

How many people has Israel killed?
In this war that started on October 7, 42,000 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip in a year. Hamas fighters entered Israel on October 7 last year and killed 1,200 civilians. 250 people were also taken hostage. Even now more than 100 hostages are in the custody of Hamas. The Israeli army said that more than 800 terrorists have been killed in Lebanon. More than 6 thousand ground targets have been destroyed in Lebanon. In a year, Israel has also arrested more than 5 thousand suspects from the West Bank and Jordan Valley.

How much loss did Israel suffer?
The Israeli army said that so far 726 soldiers have died in this war. 380 soldiers were killed on October 7, while after that 346 soldiers died while fighting in Gaza. Apart from these, 4,756 Israeli soldiers have been injured. 56 soldiers injured in accidents have also died. Israel said that more than 3 lakh soldiers have been recruited in a year. Of these, 82% are men and 18% are women. Most of them are aged 20 to 29 years.
