New Delhi: Israel has claimed that after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, it has killed one of its prominent leaders and a top commander. According to the IDF, Hezbollah’s top commander Hassan Khalil Yasin was killed during an airstrike in the southern suburb of Beirut on Saturday.

Apart from this, Hezbollah’s top leader Sheikh Nabil Kaouk has also been killed by the IDF. Hezbollah has not yet issued any statement regarding Kaouk, but its supporters have been posting condolence messages for Kaouk since yesterday.

Hasan worked in the missile and drone unit
The Israeli army said that Commander Hassan Khalil Yasin was leading a unit of Hezbollah’s intelligence department, which was entrusted with the task of carrying out attacks targeting Israel. The IDF claimed that Yassin worked closely with Hezbollah’s missile and drone units and was “personally” involved in terrorist plots against civilians and soldiers since the beginning of the war. According to the IDF, he also planned additional attacks on the Jewish state in the coming days.

    Israel’s statement
The news of Israel’s elimination of Hassan Khalil comes hours after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut. The IDF confirmed the news of his death in the attacks, saying, “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.”

Protests have started in Iran after the news of Nasrallah’s death. The protesters also raised slogans such as “Take revenge”, “Down with Israel” and “Down with America” while holding pictures of the slain Hezbollah leader. Iran has also called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council amid growing tensions between Hezbollah and Israel.
