Washington. US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden will be sentenced on December 4 for illegally possessing a gun and making false statements. The court has already convicted Hunter Biden in this case. Hunter has had a long association with controversies. He has been caught in the case of staying with a call girl in a hotel and assaulting her while being nude. In June, President Joe Biden’s son was found guilty in Delaware federal court of three crimes related to gun purchases in 2018. Prosecutors argued that Hunter Biden had provided false information on the federal form by denying using or being addicted to illegal drugs at the time.

Hunter Biden was initially scheduled to be sentenced on November 13, but his lawyers said they needed more time to prepare adequately. The judge then agreed to postpone the hearing until December 4. Charges of illegal possession of a gun in the US can carry a prison sentence of up to 25 years. However, Hunter may face a much shorter time behind bars or avoid imprisonment altogether.

He will also be sentenced on federal tax charges in California on December 16, to which Hunter pleaded guilty earlier this month. These charges carry a sentence of up to 17 years. He may also have to pay a fine of up to $1.35 million. President Biden, who dropped his candidacy in the US presidential election in July, has said he would not use his presidential powers to pardon his son or reduce his sentence.

After his guilty plea on tax evasion charges, Hunter Biden said he wanted to save his family from another painful experience. Obscene and embarrassing information about him was made public during the hearing in Hunter’s gun case. Hunter Biden was struggling with cocaine addiction at the time. Hunter Biden said he has been sober since 2019. Hunter Biden previously said, “I will not allow my family to suffer further pain, further violations of privacy, and further unnecessary embarrassment.”
