Rain wreaks havoc in many districts of MP, 17 people died due to floods in Gwalior-Chambal

Gwalior: Many districts of Madhya Pradesh have been facing the havoc of rain for the last few days. In Gwalior-Chambal region, it has been raining continuously for about 40 hours, which has created problems in the lives of people. Rivers and streams have come in spate. Sindh river in Bhind is flowing three meters above the danger mark. In view of the danger of flood, an alert has been issued in 47 villages, while many villages have been evacuated. So far 17 deaths have also occurred due to heavy rain and floods in Gwalior.

Due to floods, about 105 villages in the area have been completely submerged. Water has also filled over more than 80 culverts and culverts. So far, 17 people have died due to heavy rains and floods in the area, while more than 1500 stranded people have been rescued. An alert has been issued in 47 villages after the flood situation and the warning issued by the Meteorological Department. Sindh river in Bhind is flowing three meters above the danger mark. At the same time, many villages in Mehgaon have been completely evacuated.

Due to heavy rains and the alert of the Meteorological Department, a holiday has been declared in schools and Anganwadi centers on September 14 in Shivpuri, Morena, Gwalior and Datia. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain in 11 districts of Gwalior-Chambal and Jabalpur divisions during the next 24 hours.
