New Delhi. Chirag Paswan, who has a different stand from the central government and NDA on issues like caste census, reservation in lateral entry and UCC, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. This meeting took place in Delhi and with this, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan also dismissed rumors of differences with BJP. He said that if BJP wants, he will contest the Bihar assembly elections together with NDA.
Does not consider himself different from PM Modi
Paswan reiterated his loyalty to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he does not consider himself “different” from PM Modi. He clarified that his party is associated with the NDA and if the NDA wants, he is ready to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections as an ally of the NDA. He also took his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras’ recent meeting with Amit Shah lightly and did not give it any special importance.
Some people are trying to create a rift
Chirag said, “My love for Narendra Modi is unbreakable. As long as he is the Prime Minister, I cannot separate from him.” He also told that his views always reflect the policies of the government. Reacting to the rumors, Paswan said that some people are trying to create a rift between him and the BJP, but there is no sourness in their relationship. He stressed that his party’s alliance with the BJP is strong not only in Bihar but also at the national level.
Chirag also spoke on Kangana Ranaut’s statement
After this meeting, opposition leaders had speculated that through this meeting, Shah was indirectly sending a message to Paswan that he cannot keep distance from the BJP. However, Paswan dismissed these speculations and also called Paras’ meetings before the Lok Sabha elections meaningless. Chirag Paswan also reacted to the controversial statement of his old co-star and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. He said that BJP had already made it clear on Kangana’s statement that it was her personal opinion, and the party does not agree with it.
Criticised Simranjit Singh Mann’s statement
He strongly criticised Punjab leader Simranjit Singh Mann’s statement in which he said that he had made a controversial statement for Kangana. Calling it “unacceptable”, Paswan said that such sensitive issues should not be made fun of, especially when the country is in shock due to the recent tragic incident with the doctor in Kolkata.
