Thane. Locals are angry after four year old girls was sexually assaulted by cleaner in a reputed school in Badlapur East, Maharashtra. It is alleged that the school administration and the police tried to suppress the matter. When the parents of the victim girls went to the police station to lodge a complaint, the female police officer made them sit there for about 12 hours. There is a lot of anger among the people of Badlapur. A large number of people are protesting outside the school and at the railway station.
On the other hand, Maharashtra Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar will hold a press conference at 12.30 pm. Senior Police Inspector Shubhada Shitole was hurriedly transferred to the Thane control room. After this incident, the school principal, the concerned class teacher and two assistant staff have been dismissed from the job.
Residents protested outside the school
Angry people have declared a Badlapur bandh on Tuesday against the incident of physical torture of minors in Badlapur of Thane district. Trains coming and going from Badlapur railway station have been stopped by the crowd. Thousands of people are protesting at the station and on the tracks. The protesters staged a sit-in outside the school and have made several demands including strict punishment for the accused. The local MLA says that the senior police inspector of the area where the incident took place has been transferred.
The school issued an apology
The contract of the contractor of the sanitation worker who misbehaved with the girls has been cancelled. An apology has been issued by the school for the parents. It says that what happened is unfortunate, disgusting and condemnable. The school administration has said that we have cooperated with the police to the best of our ability against the accused.
