7 awarded Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 celebrities awarded Padma Shri

New Delhi. Every year on the occasion of Republic Day, the government honors famous personalities for their better work. People doing excellent work in their field are honored with Padma Awards every year by the Central Government. This time also the government has released the list of names who are to be honored. On the occasion of this 76th Republic Day, 7 people have been awarded Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 personalities have been honored with Padma Shri Award. See the full list here.

Late musician Sharda Sinha, Pankaj Udhas, Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor and singer Arijit Singh are among the 139 famous personalities who will be given the Padma Award this year in 2025.

Folk singer Sinha and noted Malayalam screenwriter-director M T Vasudevan Nair have been posthumously awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, for exceptional and distinguished service.

Noted ghazal singer Udhas has been posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, along with Ajith, Kapoor, Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, cinema veteran Anant Nag and Bharatanatyam dancer-actor Shobhana.

Veteran actor Ashok Saraf, theatre legend Barry John, singer Jaspinder Narula and Grammy-winning musician Ricky Kej will receive the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award.

The list includes seven Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards. There are 23 women among the awardees and the list also includes 10 people from the foreign/NRI/PIO/OCI category and 13 posthumous awardees. The awards are announced every year on the eve of Republic Day.
