New Delhi: The Supreme Court has stayed the High Court’s decision on the 69000 Uttar Pradesh Assistant Teacher Recruitment case, which is hanging in the balance regarding reservation. Now after this decision, the hearing will start afresh in the Supreme Court. Answers have been sought from the parties in the UP government and the High Court. But after a new turn in this case, the question in the mind of the teacher candidates will be what will be its impact now. Will the job be lost or saved?
In fact, the Supreme Court has currently stayed the decision of the Allahabad High Court in which the government was ordered to cancel the merit list of this recruitment and prepare it again in three months. This stay has been imposed till September 25. Along with this, the SC has sent a notice to the parties in the Uttar Pradesh government and the High Court and sought a written reply of a maximum of seven pages.
Will the teachers lose their jobs in UP or not?
With the preparation of the new selection list, there is a state of confusion in front of thousands of teachers who have been working for the last 4 years. Because Allahabad High Court has considered the existing list of 69000 assistant teachers wrong regarding reservation and has cancelled the merit list. The court has ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to prepare a new merit list within 3 months. In this, orders have been given to do it under the rules of reservation and basic education rules. It is likely to have a direct impact on the general category.
Eye on future reservation rules
Now after the Supreme Court has stayed the merit list, new hopes must have arisen in the minds of the selected candidates of the general category, who were afraid of being excluded from the new merit list. But it is difficult to reach a final decision on this right now. Because like the High Court, if the parties prove the old merit list wrong in the Supreme Court too, then those teachers may be in trouble. On the other hand, if the Supreme Court is not satisfied with the reservation rules (reservation after the examination) in UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment, then no one needs to be afraid. The jobs of the selected candidates will be saved.
What did Allahabad High Court say on the job of teachers?
However, on the issue of job loss or not, Allahabad High Court had pointed out that no working assistant teacher will lose his job in the current session. The court had said that if any working assistant teacher is adversely affected, then the benefit of the current academic session should be given so that the studies of the students are not adversely affected. The next hearing of the Supreme Court in this matter will be on 23 September.
